7+ Best HostGator Alternatives – Unbiased Comparison 2022

Hostgator Alternatives

Are you looking for HostGator alternatives for your business? In this article, not only will I give you awesome substitutes, but I’ve also curated super detailed comparisons, pricing plans, pros and cons, and so much more!

As much as I love HostGator for its cheap introductory plans and easy setup, I’ve run into issues when utilizing it for my site. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of 7+ replacements that you can use just in case these areas happen to be huge priorities on your end.

The first 5 items will be about the most secure providers in the market and then the last 3 will be focusing on the best go-to web hosts in terms of stellar customer support.

1. HostGator Alternative: Siteground

SiteGround Hostgator Alternative

Most Developer-Friendly Web Hosting [Starts at $4.99/mo]

As I mentioned in the intro of this article, I’ve encountered some security problems with HostGator. One particular issue that caught my attention is how spammers can access your contact details.

This happens when you buy from them without also purchasing the privacy option.

I was bombarded by emails and phone calls from individuals, often from overseas, who were offering their services to me.

This can really be a bother and I can imagine people would likely change their numbers if they went through the same thing too.

For this reason, I’m going to give you 5 HostGator alternatives that are tough on security.

The first one on my list is Siteground.

For a very long time, it has been one of the best web hosting services out there. Nevertheless, it remains one of the top hosts out there. Its security measures, as well as other features, are still the best in the industry.

You’ll never have issues with spammers harvesting your information with Siteground.

All of its plans allow you to enjoy NGINX web server technology, Cloudflare CDN, HTTPS, and SSL.

Server security is a primary concern for Siteground. Here are the following measures that they apply:

  • IPS/IDS system for stopping attackers and bots
  • Latest security patches of database software (IMAP/POP3. SMTP, FTP, HTTPS, HTTP)
  • Automatic updates for WordPress plugins and core versions
  • Latest PHP 7 version for the most up-to-date security
  • ModSecurity and weekly updates on security rules

Its speed and stability make it super reliable.

They also have great live chat support. Within seconds, someone will be there to assist you.

6. HostGator Alternative: Kinsta

Kinsta HostGator Alternative

Best High-Speed Server For Growing Companies [Starts at $30/mo]

Now that we’ve covered the top HostGator alternatives in terms of security, it’s time for us to go over the ones that you can depend on when it comes to customer service.

Note: This doesn’t mean though that for the rest of the items in this list, the security factor is neglected. In fact, as you’ll notice with previous items, I’ve also touched on the quality of customer assistance that I believe is worth mentioning.

The first one that I’ll be sharing with you is Kinsta.

But before we dive into this wonderful web hosting service provider, I want to share my experience with HostGator.

Every business owner knows that technical issues are a natural part of running a digital company.

That’s why it’s important to pick a service that will ease the problem-solving process and can give you the help you need.

Sadly, when I encountered a challenge using HostGator, I wasn’t satisfied with the support I received.

There are two main things that caught my attention.

First, there are no records of the issue you’ve run into. This makes it really hard because you have to start all over again whenever you’re following up on the matter.

Since a new representative will take your call or chat, you have to explain the situation again which can be really frustrating.

Also, there’s the case of their chat application. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch but even as you’re communicating with their support team, it just disappears.

In the same case with the first one, you’ll talk to another member of their team, repeat what you just told the other one, and therefore make you feel defeated.

For tech-savvy entrepreneurs or those who have a developer working for them, this isn’t a huge issue.

But, if you own a startup, are a complete beginner when setting up your site, or are a solopreneur, this spells trouble.

In worst-case scenarios, you could lose business if this remains unresolved.

So, now that we’ve cleared how important responsive customer assistance is, let’s discuss Kinsta, the very first item on the second half of this list.

It’s famous for its high-performance servers that wow its users.

When it comes to security, it’s also a marvel. But, where it shines the most is its exceptional support.

You’ll get highly detailed responses to your queries. The replies you receive are also timely.

I’m also impressed at the way their reps handle their customers.

They’re very polite and patient, which I really appreciate.

The cheapest plan costs $30 per month and it allows you to install one WordPress, have 10 GB of disk space, etc.

As the number of WordPress installations and disk space increases, so does the price.

Should you need a larger plan, you can always get in touch with them to get a custom quote.

There are so many features that Kinsta will give you.

If you want to see them in-depth, I highly recommend you head over to their site and view them for yourself.
